Boucheron, the Magnetic Quatre Cube and "Home"

Boucheron, the french jeweler was established in 1858 in Paris and recently became a member of the "Council for Responsible Jewelry Practices" in August 2006.
Boucheron is creating international awareness and raising funds for the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance. With the launch of the film "Home" and by auctioning off the "Magnetic Quatre Cube" art object they expect to gain quite a bit of recognition for safe mining practices. The cube is a combination of white, pink, yellow and chocolate colors of gold-- each color with a distinct pattern of smooth, ribbed, grosgrain and pointe de diamante respectively. The four colors of gold represent the earth's four elements; fire, air, water and earth. The weight of the gold Quatre cube is 70 grams. It will be auctioned off on eBay June 6-13th, 2009. The starting bid has not been announced yet.
The release of the film "Home" by Yann Arthus-Bertrand will be on world environment day, June 5, in theaters, television and on the internet. "Home" is filmed in over fifty countries and is an overview of how environmentally sensitive the earth is to mining practices.
